Henry Beston leaves "The Outermost House" for the last time on Oct. 11, 1964, following a ceremony at Coast Guard Beach in Eastham where the "Fo'castle" was proclaimed as a National Literary Landmark. Beston died in 1968, and the House was washed out to sea in the famous Blizzard of 1978.
